Every now and then, a story comes along that does more than just stay in your portfolio, it reshapes the way you see your craft, your clients, and your purpose. For us, that story began with a simple belief: #InLucidWeTrust.
Unlike most weddings where couples find their photographers, this journey was different. This time, we found them.
It started with a trip to Houston, a decision driven purely by instinct and a love for creating. With no expectations, just a camera and a thought: what if we could create something meaningful here? That idea led to a connection through a friend, and soon enough, we met Tinu and Ashka who would go on to define a turning point in our journey.
By the time we reached Cancun, it all started to feel real. Months of conversations, ideas, and planning were now right in front of us. We were finally meeting everyone, family, friends, people we had heard so much about, and it instantly felt easy, like we had already been a part of this story for a while. Looking back at where it all started, it felt a little surreal. From that first shoot in Houston, to Banff, to all the in-between conversations, and now we were here, at their wedding. Their wedding was not just an event, it was an experience spread across four beautifully curated days. From the Mehendi to the Sangeet, followed by a Hindu ceremony and a Christian wedding, every part of it felt intentional and personal.
At the heart of it all was a simple idea, two cultures, one story. And by the time everything began, that excitement had already been building for a while.
Mehandi and sangeet
The Mehendi and Sangeet felt like the start of everything coming together.
The Mehendi was slower, more personal. It was a lot of time spent with family and friends, sitting together, talking, laughing, just being around each other. You could see those small interactions everywhere. Even the little details, the jewellery, the colours, the mehendi itself, everything added to the mood. And then the Sangeet shifted everything. It was louder, more energetic, and full of excitement. People were not holding back at all, dancing, cheering, pulling each other in. This was the kind of night where something is always happening, and you are constantly turning to catch the next moment. You could tell everyone had been waiting for this wedding. And these two days felt like that excitement finally coming out.
Hindu wedding
The Hindu ceremony felt like a whole shift in energy. With Ashka being Gujarati, it was everything you would expect from a proper desi wedding, loud and colourful. The baraat itself was chaos in the best way. Music blasting, people dancing without holding back, everyone just fully in it. The wedding rituals carried their own rhythm and there was a balance of celebration and tradition happening at the same time. What stood out was how involved everyone was. It was not just the couple at the centre, friends jumping in, family reacting, people moving in and out, always something happening. You could feel the excitement throughout, like no one wanted to miss a second of it.
It was loud, emotional and honestly, it felt like the kind of wedding where the energy carried everything forward. You did not need to create moments, you just had to keep up with them.
christian wedding
The Christian ceremony happened at KuHa – Casa del Agua, literally in the middle of the jungle. And you could feel that the second you walked in. It was quiet, a bit wild, but that is what made it so special. It felt like everything slowed down there. They had a Christian ceremony, and it was really nice to see how that translated in a space like this. The prayers, the way the ceremony flowed, all of it still felt very rooted. What stood out even more was how both families were just fully there for it. For a couple coming from two different cultures, everyone was involved and present. You could tell it meant a lot, not just to the couple, but to both sides.
Coming from two distinct cultural backgrounds , Malayali Christian and Gujarati Hindu families, their wedding embraced both identities. Aptly captured in their wedding hashtag, #TwoStates, their wedding became a celebration of multiple culture and traditions. What made this wedding truly unforgettable, however, was the intimate wedding.
With a close-knit circle of friends and family, every face became familiar and as photographers, we were not just documenting moments, we were part of them. We laughed with them, celebrated with them, and in many ways, became woven into their story.During her thank-you speech, Ashka said something simple, she spoke about trust.
